RESOLUTION HONORING HANDS ON! MUSEUM
 


WHEREAS, a major historical exhibit (named Johnson's Journey) was dedicated on March 2, 2003 at the Hands On! Museum located at 315 East Main Street in beautiful Johnson City, Tennessee, and;

WHEREAS, this exhibit represents thousands of hours of work effort by the Mountain Empire Modular Railroaders and other volunteers interested in preserving the area's history, and;

WHEREAS, the Lady of the Fountain statue is the centerpiece of this exhibit and has returned to Main Street for her first appearance since she was removed in 1938, and;

WHEREAS, the exhibit is intended for all ages and will serve as a foundation point for future museum and heritage related projects in Johnson City, Tennessee, and;

WHEREAS, 2007 is the 150 year anniversary of the first train arriving at Johnson's Depot (formerly known as Blue Plum) and the founding efforts for the city of Johnson City began.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Saturday, March 3, 2007 is hereby declared as Hands On! Museum Day at Johnson's Depot and the public is invited to view this great history exhibit which will be on display through September 16, 2007.
